About
Velvet Plate began on a Tuesday night in February. Pad Thai on the counter. The fridge closed. A decision.
It was a Tuesday in February. I’d had a long day. I came home, stood in front of the fridge, and stared at a sad container of grilled chicken and steamed broccoli someone had told me was “clean eating.”
I closed the fridge. Ordered Thai. And ate it standing up, on the counter.
I’m not telling that story to be relatable. I’m telling it because I realized something that night: the reason most people fail at eating well isn’t willpower. It’s that the food we’ve been told is “healthy” forgets it’s supposed to be dinner. With a glass of something. At a table. With music.
That’s the moment Velvet Plate started — in my head, on my counter, mid-pad-thai.
Not a registered dietitian. Not a Michelin-starred chef. Not a doctor. Velvet Plate doesn’t trade on credentials we don’t have. The system is a wellness framework, not a medical one — and we’re explicit about that on every page.
A home cook who got tired of every “healthy” meal plan being sad chicken and steamed broccoli — and decided that healthy eating should look and taste like dinner. The Velvet Plate menus are the menus I cook in my own kitchen. The wellness rituals are the ones I actually keep.
Velvet Plate is a digital wellness brand. Premium recipes, personalized monthly plans, member-only video, and the kind of editorial design most “meal plan” services don’t bother with. Built to scale into a media brand — supplements, retreats, courses — over the next several years.
The next twelve months, we’re focused on three things: more real members, real stories, and a content library that compounds. The brand is being built publicly — you can read along on Instagram, TikTok, and the newsletter.
I built Velvet Plate for the version of me — and the version of you — who refuses to choose between elegance and her health. The version who refuses to call eating well a “diet” and refuses to call beautiful food the exception.
If that’s the version of you that wants to show up — you’re in the right place.
